Ganzhi Journal (the "App") is developed and operated by Taonote AI. We take your privacy seriously. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect your personal information.

1. Information We Collect

• Account Information: Depending on how you sign in: your email address and password when you register with email (passwords are stored only as encrypted hashes); the user identifier and email address (if you choose to share it) provided by Apple when you use Sign in with Apple; or a device identifier for guest accounts that require no registration. We also store your display name and time zone.
• Birth Information (Optional): Birth date, birth time, and gender, used to calculate your BaZi chart and personalize analysis. We do not collect your place of birth.
• Journal Content: Your journal entries, mood records, and fortune ratings, plus the Echo cards and insight reports generated from them.
• Questions & Readings: Questions you enter in the Ask / I Ching reading features, the AI's replies, and a conversation summary kept to maintain context.
• Purchase History: The in-app products you purchase, transaction IDs, timestamps, and the resulting usage credits. Payments are processed by Apple; we never receive your card or other payment details.
• Usage Data: How you interact with the App, such as screens viewed, features used, and steps in the sign-in and purchase flows, along with app version, platform, and a session identifier; plus AI usage counts and quota information. This data is collected by our own servers and used only for analytics and product improvement.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the collected information only for:

• Providing core app features (journaling, Ganzhi and BaZi calculations)
• Providing AI features (Echo cards, insight reports, questions and I Ching readings)
• User authentication and account management
• Verifying in-app purchases and managing subscriptions and credits
• Analyzing product usage to improve features and user experience

We do not sell your personal information, we do not use any third-party advertising or tracking SDKs, and we do not track you across other apps or websites.

3. AI Services

When you use AI features, your journal content, questions, and chart information are sent to third-party AI service providers (Alibaba Cloud Qwen or Google Gemini) for processing. Important Notes:

• Sent content does not include your name, email, or other identifying information
• We do not use your content for AI model training
• AI providers only process text content and do not associate it with your account

4. Third-Party Services

This App uses the following third-party services:

• Sign in with Apple: Authentication
• Apple In-App Purchase: Payments and subscriptions
• AI Services: Alibaba Cloud Qwen, Google Gemini

Usage analytics are processed entirely on our own servers and are not shared with any third-party analytics platform.

5. Data Storage and Security

• Your data is stored on cloud servers located in the United States
• All data is transmitted over encrypted connections (HTTPS)
• Strict access control with authorized personnel only
• We retain your data for as long as your account exists; see Section 7 for what happens when you delete it

6. Your Rights

• Access and Modify: View and modify your personal information anytime in the App
• Delete Content: Delete any journal entry or clear your question history at any time
• Delete Account: Delete your account and associated data in the App at any time (see Section 7)
• Export Data: Email us to request an export of your personal data

7. Account Deletion

You can delete your account at any time using the "Delete Account" option in the App. When you do, we immediately and permanently delete your account information, birth information and chart, journal entries, Echo cards, insight reports, question history, and usage credits. If you signed in with Apple, we also revoke the associated Apple authorization.

To prevent duplicate redemption and for aggregate statistics, purchase records (such as transaction IDs) and usage data are retained, but they are unlinked from your account and can no longer identify you.

Deleting your account does not cancel App Store subscriptions; please cancel them in iPhone Settings → Apple Account → Subscriptions. If you cannot delete your account in the App, email support@taonote.app and we will process your request within 7 business days.

8. Children's Privacy

This App is not intended for children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

9. Privacy Policy Updates

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Updated policies will be posted on this page with an updated "Last Updated" date. If there are material changes, we will notify you within the App.
